Bali strengthened its commitment to regenerative tourism through The Meru Eco Tourism Week 2026 in Sanur. The two-day event was organized by Eco Tourism Bali, The Meru Sanur, WI-STIF, and ACT! Project. It brought together tourism leaders, government representatives, academics, communities, media, and sustainability experts.
Carrying the theme “Tourism as a Force for Good: Regenerating Bali Together,” the event promoted nature-positive tourism. This approach focuses on restoring ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and supporting long-term environmental sustainability. The program also aligned with the spirit of the International Day for Biological Diversity.
More than 40 exhibitors showcased sustainable solutions for hospitality and tourism. The event featured panel discussions, business pitches, networking sessions, and the Eco Climate Badge Award 2025/2026. Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, also attended, reinforcing support for Bali’s sustainable tourism future.
Hosted at The Meru Sanur, the event encouraged stronger collaboration across sectors. Organizers hope it will inspire practical action and long-term solutions for Bali. The initiative also supports Bali’s goal of becoming a leading regenerative tourism destination that grows alongside nature and local communities.
