At this year’s Jia Curated in Bali, Sandei presents a pavilion inspired by “Weaving Nature.” The project brings together Coulisse|INK, Le Château Living, and Dharmawan Lighting. Designed by Bran Suwandrei of Studio S+AO, the pavilion explores architecture as a thread between people, materials, and nature. Titled “The Threaded, An Architecture of Connection,” the space considers how design can bring these elements into closer conversation.

Located along Pengembak Beach, the pavilion uses a series of modular structures with 45-degree openings that bring natural light into the space. Its semi-open design creates multiple access points while allowing visitors to experience the sky, ocean sounds, vegetation, and tropical surroundings as part of the interior.

Sustainability is central to the pavilion’s design. The modular system allows materials from Sandei’s previous ARCH:ID pavilion to be reused and adapted for the larger Jia Curated space. The design also incorporates leftover blind materials, transformed into new elements as part of Sandei and Coulisse’s ongoing approach to responsible design.

Each element shapes the pavilion’s spatial experience, from refined sanitary designs to carefully layered lighting. Le Château Living brings its premium sanitary designs, while Dharmawan Lighting adds depth through considered illumination. High-performance blinds and operable partitions further shape the space and its connection with nature. Meanwhile, Sonne, Skayu, Somfy, Peers, Alvin T, Idefab, and Fufini Microcement support the pavilion’s material language. Refreshments from Guten Morgen and books from Gavrabooks complete the experience, bringing architecture closer to everyday living.
