Road to Balinale 2026 took place on 30 April 2026 at Terrace Soekarno Lounge, The Meru Sanur. The event introduced the spirit of Balinale before the festival begins in June. It gathered communities, filmmakers, media, hospitality partners, and cultural figures in Sanur.
Balinale – Bali International Film Festival will run from 1–7 June 2026 in Sanur. The festival hub will be at Icon Bali Mall with screenings at Cinema XXI and selected venues across the area. The festival continues to connect international cinema with Bali’s creative and cultural community.
As Indonesia’s first Oscar® Qualifying Film Festival, Balinale continues gaining global recognition. The 2026 edition received over 1,300 submissions from many countries. Around 100 films from 35 countries will be featured, including world and Asian premieres. Indonesian filmmakers will also showcase new stories, documentaries, and animation works.
The festival also supports education and creative collaboration through international programs and film discussions. Upcoming highlights include the Bali Film Forum, OceanX screening, Awards Night, and Open Air Closing Event.
